The Centre does not act as a corporate body and constitutes an independent organization unit founded by the applicant (Palacky University in Olomouc) with separate accountancy.
For a reason of integrated and continuous managing and administration of realization of the Project and subsequent operation of the Centre, the bodies of the Centre (Managing Board of the Centre, the Scientific Board of the Centre, the General Director of the Centre, the Scientific Director of the Centre) and departments of the Centre (managing, research and supporting departments, see specifications and descriptions of the activity below) are established.

- The bodies of the Centre are composed of the top representatives of the applicant (the Rector of the Palacky University, the Dean of the Faculty of Science of the Palacky University) which, by reason of their function and corresponding competences, provide a connection of the activities of the Centre with operational and financial structure of the applicant and discussion of required tasks necessary for the activity of the Centre in the corresponding bodies of the applicant.
- The interconnection of the executive activity component of the Centre with the applicant is ensured by an activity of employees of the applicant in the bodies of the Centre and in its managing, research and supporting departments. The interconnection and coordination on the scientific and research areas of the activity of the Centre is ensured by a participation of the leaders of the workplaces, which take part in the solution of the Project, in managing when they act as key persons and members of the Scientific Board of the Centre.

The description of the structure:
The Managing Board of the Centre constitutes the top managing and controlling body of the Centre, warrants the basic orientations of the activities of the Centre and also performs a supervisory function. The Managing Board of the Centre consists of 7 members and is composed of the statutory representatives of the applicant (Rector of the Palacky University and Dean of the Faculty of Science of Palacky University or representatives commissioned by them), representatives of the applicant coordinating the regional and European development (“Vise-Rector for European Investment Development” and “Vice-Rector for Regional Development” or representatives nominated by them), director or commissioned representative of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (Physical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v.i.i., or Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, v.i.i.), two representatives representing the clients from the field of chemical and optical industry. In the period of the realization phase of the Project, the Rector of Palacky University or the representative commissioned by him/her is the chairman of the Managing Board of the Centre whereas after the termination of the realization of Project, this position is held by the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Palacky University. The members of the Managing Board of the Centre are appointed by the dean of the Faculty of Science of the Palacky University. The meeting of the Managing Board of the Centre is held four times in a year (except the first year of the realization of the Project). Within its competence, the Managing Board of the Centre presents a proposal to appoint or to withdraw the General Director of the Centre which is submitted to the Rector of Palacky University (in the period of the realization of the Project) or the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Palacky University (after the termination of the realization of the Project). Either the Rector (during the realization phase of the Project) or the Dean cannot withdraw or nominate the General Director of the Centre without the proposal of the Managing Board of the Centre.
The General Director of the Centre manages the activity of the Centre and is responsible to the Managing Board of the Centre. The General Director of the Centre is the employee of the Palacky University. During the realization phase of the Project, he/she is appointed by the Rector of the Palacky University based on the proposal of the Managing Board of the Centre and after the termination of the Project realization, he/she is appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Science based on the proposal of the Managing Board of the Centre for a 5-year period. During the Project realization, the General Director of the Centre can be withdrawn by the Rector of Palacky University on the basis of the proposal of the Managing Board of the Centre and after the termination of the Project realization, he/she can be withdrawn by the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Palacky University based on the proposal of the Managing Board of the Centre. The General Director of the Centre is responsible for the realization of the Project in correspondence with the conditions following “Decision on granting a subsidy”, especially proper utilization of finance, procedure of realization of infrastructure acquired within the Project, fulfillment of values of monitoring indicators, monitoring, analysis and evaluation of risks and for other activities necessary for timed and factually correct realization of the Project. In the period of sustainability of the Project, the General Director of the Centre is responsible for the activity of the Centre which enables to sustain the objectives of the Project and for control of quality of the research activity and management of the Centre. He/she is responsible for correct and timed elaboration of all the monitoring reports, requests for payment and final settlement of finance utilization and final monitoring report for the Managing Body of the Operational Programme of Research and Development for Innovations; he/she submit the monitoring reports, requests for payment, final finance statement and final monitoring report to the Managing Board of the Centre which discuss them. In coordination with the Scientific Director of the Centre and the Project Manager, he/she assembles the proposals concerning the annual financial plan and annual scientific plan, which are handled for the discussion within the Managing Board of the Centre. He/she attends the meetings of the Managing Board of the Centre and the Scientific Board of the Centre, appoints and withdraws the members of the Scientific Board of the Centre and the Scientific Director of the Centre, decides on the scope of working activities of individual departments of the Centre, appoints and withdraws the heads of the departments of the Centre.
The Scientific Board of the Centre constitutes an advisory body of the General Director of the Centre. The Scientific Board of the Centre determines the main directions of the research and transfer of research results to the application sphere and promptly reacts to the actual challenges from the side of the clients and application sphere. The Scientific Board of the Centre consists of 7 members; 3 distinguished external experts working in the field of applied nanomaterial and optical research with an experience with the application sphere, the Scientific Director of the Centre, the Coordinator of the Technology Transfer and directors of two synergetic projects of Regional Centers solved within the Palacky University. The Scientific Board of the Centre is summoned by the General Director of the Centre twice a year. The chairman of the Scientific Board of the Centre who directs the sessions of the Scientific Board of the Centre is appointed by the General Director of the Centre.
The Scientific Director of the Centre is subordinated to the General Director of the Centre and is responsible for definition and realization of the scientific and research programs and transfer of research results to the application sphere. The Scientific Director of the Centre is appointed by the General Director of the Centre and comes from the key research workers of the Centre. He/she can be withdrawn by the General Director of the Centre.
The Department of Technology Transfer (approximately 2 FTEs) is one of the key managing units of the Centre and is headed by the Coordinator of Technology Transfer. The Coordinator of Technology Transfer is appointed by the General Director of the Centre and is responsible to the Scientific Board of the Centre. The Department of Technology Transfer provides a regular contact of the research divisions of the Centre with the clients of the Project, actively searches for possibilities of realization of the Centre research results, proposes the most suitable forms of their realization and coordinates a cooperation with the Science and Technology Park of the Palacky University, which ensures marketing, administrative and legal aspects of the technology transfer (preparation of patents, license contracts, cooperation contracts). The Department of Technology Transfer will also participate in the final phase of the transfer of the research results in a close connection with the clients mediated by its assistance in the preparation of semi-operational and preliminary (pilot) technologies. The Coordinator of Technology Transfer is in a regular contact with the Scientific Director of the Centre and selected representatives of the six research programmes. The Coordinator of Technology Transfer is responsible for a general policy of the contract research and relations with external users of the research infrastructure (organization, plan and volume of custom measurements).
The Department of Education and Human Resources (approximately 1.5 FTEs) provides further education of the workers of the Centre, education organized for the clients and users of the research results of the Centre and education of students of the Faculty of Science of the Palacky University. The Department of Education and Human Resources deals with searching for and selection of potential workers of the Centre (especially Junior researchers from PhD. students) and managing of their mobility in relation with abroad and application sphere. The Department of Education and Human Resources is headed by the Coordinator which is appointed by the General Director of the Centre and is responsible to him/her. This department ensures an interconnection between the educational activities of the Centre and activities of educational units of the Faculty of Science of the Palacky University (its particular departments).
The Department of Propagation and Grant Policy (approximately 1.5 FTEs) promotes the activity of the Centre in public media and by means of regular seminars and workshops with a participation of scientific community and clients of the Project. This department is headed by the Coordinator which is appointed by the General Director of the Centre and is responsible to him/her. In addition, this department ensures the coordination of national and international grant policy including preparation and administration of the research projects, joint projects with the clients and international projects (in coordination with the Project Service of Palacky University).
The Project Manager guarantees the organization-economical management of the Centre. He/she is appointed by the General Director of the Centre and is responsible to him/her.
