Scientific focus of the division:

  • Development of the new types of biologically active coordination compounds of the selected transition metals with high application potential in medicine and pharmacology (e.g. substances with antitumour, anti-inflammatory or antidiabetic activity).
  • Preparation and study of molecular magnets and molecular switches based on the transition metal complexes applicable as sensors or high density memory or recording media, etc.
  • Study of hybrid molecular-crystalline nanostructures with functionalized nanocrystalline iron oxide-based carriers with bound biologically active compound for the purpose of using these systems in targeted drug delivery or with magnetically interesting compound.
