Spolupráce s laboratoří CERN

Experiment LHCb, one of the four main experiments at the LHC collider at CERN reports the observation of two new composite particles dubbed pentaquarks, with inner structure of four quarks and an antiquark. While other interpretations like a molecular-like bound state of a baryon and a meson are still in game the discovery sheds new light on the nature of the strong force, one of the fundamental interaction of Nature, which holds together atomic nuclei as well as protons or neutrons as bound states of three quarks. More data and independent experiments are needed to confirm the nature of the new particles.
