National patent granted
The members of the research team of Department of Inorganic Chemistry are listed as inventors of the seventh national patent, entitled “Utilization of copper complexes involving 2-phenyl-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-quinolinone and 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives for the preparation of drugs for the treatment of tumour diseases” (patent No. 304045) granted by Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic from 2011. The patent protection relates to the utilization and applicability of the title complexes for the preparation of drugs for the treatment of tumour diseases, namely lung adenocarcinoma, human cervix epitheloid carcinoma, human malignant melanoma, human ovarian carcinoma, human cisplatin-resistant ovarian carcinoma and human prostate carcinoma.
