ICO ocenila celoživotní dílo českého vědce
Professor Jan Perina has been given the Galileo Galilei Award of ICO (International Commission for Optics).
Prof. Dr. Jan Perina is a professor of quantum electronics and optics at the Department of Optics of Palacky University in Olomouc and Joint Laboratory of Optics of Palacky University in Olomouc and Physical Institute of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. He has been working as a Senior Researcher at the Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials at Palacky University in Olomouc since 2010. The Galileo Galilei Award Committee of ICO (chair: Prof. Dr. Tomasz Szoplik (Poland); members: Prof. Dr. Cid B. de Araújo (Brazil), Prof. Dr. Gert von Ball (Germany), Prof. Dr. Paul K. Buah-Bassuah (Ghana), Prof. Dr. Bishnu P. Pal (India), Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shabat (Palestine), Prof. Dr. Valentin I. Vlad (Romania), and Prof. Dr. Ičiro Jamaguči (Japan)) has honored Prof. Dr. Jan Perina by the 2011 edition of this Award for “his substantial results in the field of quantum optics and coherence related to non-classical states that have been obtained under difficult circumstances”. The Committee finds to be remarkable how he could have achieved such an amount of work under such difficult conditions that existed in Czechoslovakia in the time of his highest creative activity.
Profesor Jan Peřina byl poctěn prestižní Cenou Galileo Galilea Mezinárodní komise pro optiku (International Commission for Optics, ICO). Prof. RNDr. Jan Peřina, DrSc. je profesorem kvantové elektroniky a optiky na katedře optiky Přírodovědecké fakulty Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci a ve Společné laboratoři optiky Univerzity Palackého a Fyzikálního ústavu AV ČR. Od roku 2010 působí také jako senior researcher v Regionálním centru pokročilých technologií a materiálů na Univerzitě Palackého v Olomouci. Výbor ICO pro udělování ceny Galilea Galileiho – předseda Tomasz Szoplik (Polsko), členové Cid B. de Araújo (Brazílie), Gert von Ball (Německo), Paul K. Buah-Bassuah (Ghana), Bishnu P. Pal (Indie), Mohammed Shabat (Palestina), Valentin I. Vlad (Rumunsko) a Ičiro Jamaguči (Japonsko) – ocenil Jana Peřinu touto cenou za rok 2011 za jeho významné výsledky na poli kvantové optiky a koherence týkající se neklasických stavů, které byly získány za obtížných okolností“. Výbor považuje za pozoruhodné, jak mohl takový objem práce vykonat za tak obtížných podmínek, které existovaly v Československu v době jeho vrcholové tvůrčí činnosti.
